WIP Wednesday 10
I've actually started a couple of new things this week.
First is a new shawl. I'm using the Rippled wrap pattern by Cheri McEwen and the rainbow Kauni laceweight I had in my growing yarn stash.
Its very easy to do and seems to be working up quickly at the moment though I think as it gets bigger it may start to get a little monotonous as its all double crochet.
Secondly I've started making a Blooming Flower Cushion following the pattern done on the Attic24 blog. Again its an easy pattern to follow especially with all the great pictures she's added to the pattern on her blog.
The yarn I'm using for this is a mixed bag of bright colours I got from natural mamas FSOT left over from another crafty mamas blanket. Looking at the amount I'm likely to use for this cushion I may have enough left over to make a lap quilt to go with it. I'll definitely have enough to do another pillow if nothing else.

I love the blooming flower cushion pattern, can't wait to see how yours progresses :) Great colours so far.
ReplyDeleteI am excited to see your wrap as you go. I like kind of easy/monotonous patterns like that sometimes...good ones to watch a movie while you work projects!
ReplyDeleteAnd I LOVE that flower cushion pattern. It's on my list of patterns I'd love to do, so I can't wait to see how yours comes out!
Oh, my goodness... I LOVE Kauni! can't wait to see how your shawl turns out!
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome pattern! I'm sure it won't be too boring for you, because you will still need to remember to increase and decrease in the right places.
ReplyDeleteThanks all. I'm really likeing both of these patterns actually.
ReplyDeleteHeather I did pick this one to do because it was a simple pattern so wouldn't have to think about it too much, I wanted something easy to do in front the tele without having to count loads IYKWIM :) and hopefully it should give fairly quick results so I'll feel like I've actually got something done rather than having to wait weeks for the finished item lol
Love that cushion !! must check that pattern out !!
ReplyDeleteI love both your projects, so bright and cheerful. I have that blooming cushion on my list for someday.
ReplyDeleteI've just started learning to crochet and it's very addictive - I'm loving the colours of these. That wrap is so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThat ripple shawl will be great with the Kauni color changes. Maybe you can alternate it with other projects so it doesn't make you go crazy with the double crochet?
ReplyDeleteYour shawl looks lovley! I am very intigued by the flower cushion, can't wait to see it progress!
ReplyDeleteWow - I love both your projects!! I wish I was more confident with crochet to give them a try!
