WIP Wednesday 4

Well I haven't done a whole lot of crafty stuff these last couple of weeks due to being away but I have managed to work a little on my tunisian crochet blanket and am on colour number two. I'm finding it easier to do than standard crochet I think though I am only using the basic stitch for this blanket.

Whilest away we were given some free bags and I thought I'd try and spruce them up a bit as they are nice bags but I didn't really want them with the logos written all over them. So they have been in with some dye and are waiting now to have some bits and bobs added to brighten them up a bit. I also found a few other bags and a couple of hats so they went in as well. You can still see the logos but with a few pockets/accessories I'm sure they'll soon be hidden :)

The other things I've been working on is a knitting needle roll for my hooks and needles. I finished one for my mum last week and am halfway through one for me.

Other ongoing projects are my eldests quilt, kaleidoscope quilt, summer series quilt, cake topper (to be finished this evening hopefully) so got a bit to finish really.

Please see tamis blog for other WIP posts

  2. It's interesting to see your photo of Tunisian crochet. I've never seen that before, where crocheted loops accumulate on the needle. I'm going to have to google some tutorials to see how it works!

  4. Thanks everyone. The boys are playing trains quietly at the moment so have managed to do a little sewing just now and have nearly finished the needle roll (yey) so might actually have some finished things this week :)

  6. Wow you have a lot going on. I love the blanket and though I detest standard crochet, I really enjoy Tunisian the few times I have done it. it tends to go smoothing and quickly.

Everything looks so interesting. Good job.

  8. Tunisian crochet makes such a nice sturdy warm fabric ... I'm inspired to get out my hook and go a few rounds!

  9. Thanks everyone for the lovely comments. I do seem to have quite a few things on the go at once but I'm terrible at focusing on just one thing I tend to flit from project to project. I'm loving the Tunisian crochet, this is the first thing I've made this way. My knitting roll is finished now, yey (the fabric is Alexander henry's cho cho butterfly, bright on white, but its pretty hard to find now unfortunately)

  13. I started a blanket in tunisian crochet, but haven't picked it up in forever!! I just seems to take so long to get any headway. I can't wait to watch yours grow. Maybe it will inspire me to get mine back out.
